Overview
This policy explains how zippic (zippic.app) handles information when you use the site. zippic is a free, browser-based image compressor and converter.
Local processing
Images and other files you process with the tools are handled locally in your browser with WebAssembly. They are not uploaded to our servers. We do not receive or store the contents of those files.
Information we collect
The site does not require an account. We do not receive the files you process. The services described below can collect:
- Usage data, such as pages visited and tools used.
- Technical data, such as browser type, device information, and an IP address.
- On some Google Analytics events, the file name and the file sizes for a job you run. Those events do not include the file contents.
We do not collect or store your images or the contents of the files you process.
Blog pages load article text from our own server. That request does not include the files you process with the tools.
Advertising and cookies
We use Google AdSense to show ads. Google AdSense uses cookies and similar identifiers to serve ads and to measure how they perform. Ads may be personalized.
Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this site and to other sites.

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, a Google-certified consent message is the way to choose whether advertising cookies are used, when that message is enabled for this site.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4. It sets cookies and receives usage events, including pages viewed and tools used. Some events include a file name and file sizes. Google Analytics does not receive the file itself.
zippic.app also loads Cloudflare Web Analytics from static.cloudflareinsights.com. That script measures page views.
Cookies
The site sets a first-party cookie named NEXT_LOCALE to remember your language. Google AdSense and Google Analytics set their own cookies, as described above. You can block or delete cookies in your browser.
Data retention
We do not keep copies of the images or files you process, because they are not uploaded. Google stores the AdSense and Google Analytics data it collects under Google's own retention settings. We do not keep a separate copy of those records.
Cloudflare stores the page-view data collected by Cloudflare Web Analytics under Cloudflare's own settings.
Children
The site is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your rights
If the GDPR or the CCPA/CPRA applies to you, you can ask to access personal information we hold about you, ask us to delete it, and opt out of personalized advertising.
- Access. Ask what personal information we hold. We do not hold your files. Advertising and analytics data is held by the companies named on this page.
- Deletion. Ask us to delete personal information we hold. You can also clear cookies in your browser and use the opt-out links above for personalized ads.
- Personalized ads. Use Google Ads Settings, aboutads.info, or youronlinechoices.eu. We do not sell personal information. Advertising cookies can count as sharing personal information for advertising under California law. The links above are how you opt out of that.
Data security
Your files stay on your device, so we do not have a server copy of them. The site and its static files are served over HTTPS.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
